• The nominee’s commitment and support of public education at all times
• The nominee’s stand taken by action, public utterances and written statements for the betterment of the educational opportunities of children
• The nominee’s interest in the welfare of children
• The nominee’s support of local, state and national educational organizations and his/her leadership activities within these organizations
